SYNOPSIS: Constructed from over 500 hours of never-before-seen footage, this documentary centers on the career of celebrated football player Diego Maradona who played for SSC Napoli in the 1980s.
Brilliant archival footage used to help tell this story, I think Kapadia scores another goal with his 3rd documentary. It is difficult to watch such a talent fall the way he did, but I believe this film helps to showcase some of the reasoning for it - the claustrophobic and trapped life he had to lead because of his immense talent being one of these. I agree with a previous review wishing Diego to have been more involved, it would have been good to have more commentary from the legend himself.
